This fully funded fellowship offers scientists, writers, scholars, public intellectuals, and artists the opportunity to pursue ambitious projects for one full academic year at Harvard University in a vibrant interdisciplinary community.
The program welcomes innovative work on pressing social, scientific, and policy issues. It has a special focus on women, gender, and society, as well as the theme of Academic Freedom and Connecting Across Difference. There is no application fee.

Eligibility Criteria:
This fellowship is not for current students or recent PhD graduates. Applicants must meet these requirements:
For Humanities & Social Sciences
- Must have received a doctorate (PhD, MD, JD, etc.) at least 4 years before the fellowship starts
- Must have published a monograph or at least two refereed journal articles
For Science, Engineering & Mathematics
- Must have received a doctorate at least 4 years before the fellowship
- Must have published at least five refereed journal articles
For Nonfiction & Journalism
- Journalism: At least 5 years of professional experience
- Nonfiction: One published book, a book contract, or at least three substantial published works
For Creative Arts
- Different requirements for Film, Visual Arts, Fiction, Poetry, Playwriting, and Music Composition (strong professional track record required)
Note: Former Radcliffe Fellows (1999–present) are not eligible.
